HURRICANE AND FLOOD DESIGN INTEGRATION
HURRICANES
Hurricanes are becoming more and more common in Cape Coral in part due to the impact of climate change.

DESIGN CASE STUDY
DYMAXION HOUSE
THE FAILURES OF THE DYMAXION HOUSE
- People are naturally uneasy when confronted with the concept of '
'grand creator' defining their behaviour. They are hesitant to sacrifice
their choice in their behaviour and flexibility.
- Fuller's design ignores all common conception of what is to be
considered 'homely', this concept of home disregards the need for
natural growth and development of a habit.

RESPONSE THROUGH DESIGN
This physical form of design in the Dymaxion House is not a realistic form, and the idea of 'grand creator' needs to be avoided to it is important that spaces are dynamic and multi-use.

FLOODING
Flash flooding can occur during a hurricane but with the effects of climate change flooding is becoming more and more common in places near large open bodies of water.

The development is designed in such a way that if the area was to flood to an extreme height, the majority of the building can still be used effectively.

As discussed in my technology submission the car park is a watertight structure that would defend the interior of the space from the potential flood
